Virtual Triathlon — Up Side Down Triathlon — Non-standard Sport Triathlon
Join the healthy, wholesome fun in and around Lander, WY!
Whether you are a veteran triathlete or you've never done a race in your life, and no matter where in the world you are, the WY Tri Series has something for you.
April 10-25, 2021: From tri-newbies to veterans, everyone enjoyed having a chance to race. Folks from five to 50+ and from CA to VA completed each of the events (swim, bike and run) during the allotted two weeks in April and submitted their times for each event. Distances ranged from a Kids' Race to Sprint. Results can be found HERE.
June 19, 2021: A live, in-person triathlon that begins with a 5k run then 20 mile bike ride then 600 yard pool swim - that’s upsidedown compared to a “normal” triathlon. Kid’s Race (0.5m Run, 1.5mi Bike, 50yd Swim) for the youngsters, too. At the foot of the beautiful Wind River Mountains, it isn’t a flat bike course, but will be fast (at times), beautiful and fun, cows and snakes aside! - or at least fun to be done! Results can be found here.
Other races may be added to the series, potentially at the end of the summer and maybe even next winter (21-22). We're looking to involve off-road options and winter sports. Get on our email list to be the first to find out what we come up with!
If the race itself weren’t reward enough, the WY Tri Series also works to support our community by donating proceeds to local charities that serve folks in the area. This year we’ve selected Abba’s House in Riverton and a summer AWANA camp that serves youth in WY and nearby states. Abba’s house offers pregnant women many free services and education on their options.
Many thanks to the local businesses who make these events possible.
Find out more on our sponsorship page. We are especially interested in discount / gift cards and in-kind donations. Or join the Aid Brigade - a competition between Aid Stations hosted by your club, associates or friends.
Visit Sinks Canyon State Park. Rock climb indoors or out. Visit local museums: the Children’s Museum, Museum of the American West, Fremont Country Pioneer Museum. Hike. Mountain Bike. Camp. Possibilities are endless!
Find out more about the WY (be normal?!) Tri Series! You'll receive occasional email announcements letting you know when big things happen, like registrations opening, details posted and updated, and new races added.
